Scouting Elias King
As is always the case when ranking sophomores, the list is very fluid. One player who has validated a high grade is Christian Brothers’ Elias King.
Standing at 6-foot-7, King will likely end up as a face up four. He shoots it well from the mid-range and three point line and takes good routes to the rim in pick-n-roll and transition. He is a good offensive rebounder and finishes well inside. With good hands and a motor, King is the type of player that finds positive plays. King needs to improve his toughness and being successful in a crowd.
He is part of a top heavy sophomore group in the Sacramento area with top overall player Jordan Brown (Woodcreek) and fellow 4-star Zachary Chappell (Capital Christian).
He is averaging 26 points and 10 rebounds, including a season high 48 points against Vanden and 38 points in an early season loss to Mitty. Christian Brothers is 14-10 after winning six of its last eight games.
King is No. 7 in the 2018 Top 20, but will push into the Top 5 in the postseason edition.
